How to create your best portfolio piece using the most advanced 3D tools, combining different styles on the edge between 2D and 3D in Blender ?

Early Access: You’re getting the course while it’s still growing! The first 3 chapters (24 videos + text materials) are already available. Every new chapter will unlock for you automatically the moment it’s released — no extra fees, ever.

The price includes the current early-bird discount — as new chapters come out, the discount will gradually decrease!

What you will get

  • 64 video lectures with blender materials like a brushes, shaders etc..
  • 8 chapters with homework
  • English voiceover + subtitles

Software Used: Blender, photoshop, CapCut

Why is the course suitable for both beginners and experienced 3D artists?

  • The course offers both simple and advanced pipelines for animating illustrations in Blender. You can choose your own level of difficulty — or, over time, master both pipelines, as they overlap in many aspects.
  • If you’ve never used Blender before, the introductory lessons by Alexander will show you how to use all the necessary tools. The first module of the course is entirely dedicated to the interface and an overview of Blender’s main features.
  • For experienced 3D artists, the course provides a set of author techniques and methods for creating animated illustrations — from modeling to compositing. A lot of attention will be given to the visual aspect and shading tools, as well as Hand Paint, Projection Mapping, and VFX techniques.
  • During the course, you’ll learn not only how to work with geometry and textures, but also how to enhance them with custom shaders — such as water, fire, and clouds — and how to properly combine and present them to the viewer.

The course demonstrates 3 pipelines: simple / advanced for those who draw / advanced for those who work only in 3D. Lectures and homework are designed accordingly.

Chapter 1. Base

  • Blender interface (overview, navigation, addons)
  • Overview of the most popular Blender tools/buttons for the course
  • Animation tools (timeline, dope sheet, graph editor, camera, shape keys)
  • Introduction to animation (animation principles, first animation)

Demo: Bouncing ball animation on surfaces

HW: Try each tool from the lectures.

HW-2: Practice animation principles on the bouncing ball.

Chapter 2. Pipeline

  • Planning. How to start correctly.
  • Working with geometry (basics of polygonal modeling)
  • Import / Export and Asset Browser
  • Simple Pipeline (set up the camera, basic geometry, move illustration into 3D space)

Demo: The process of creating a sketch and illustration

HW: Move your illustration into Blender. Plan the upcoming animation.

HW-2: Create basic geometry based on your sketch, set the camera, and plan animation.

Chapter 3. — Shaders

  • Basics of Shading / UV / Light
  • Projection Mapping
  • HandPaint (overview of hand-painted texture tools in Blender / Photoshop)

HW-1: Add necessary shaders to your scene. Adjust textures for your illustration.

HW-2: Do overpaint on your base geometry, transfer textures onto 3D objects, use shaders and HandPaint to refine textures and ensure they look correct in animation.

Chapter 4. — FX Effects (publication - 02.12.25)

  • Stylized procedural shaders (Toon Shader, water, fire, clouds)
  • Particle system (falling leaves, splashes, rain, snow)
  • Volume shader (clouds, fog, smoke)
  • Different ways to add motion (simulation, rig)

HW: Add shaders and necessary simulations to your scene. Adjust textures and animations for your illustration.

HW-2: Finalize texture edits after projection.

Chapter 5. Grease Pencil Animation Tools (publication - 21.12.25)

  • Process (working principles of Grease Pencil)
  • Tools (timeline, dope sheet, graph editor, camera, shape keys — for GP)
  • Brushes, materials
  • GP to Mesh

Demo: Flower field

HW: Choose to either add GP animation to your scene or create a small new scene to practice the tool.

Chapter 6. Geometry Nodes (publication - 10.01.26)

  • Introduction (overview and usage examples)
  • Curve and Mesh
  • Particles
  • Growth / Burning

HW: Choose to either add GN animation to your scene or create a small new scene to practice this tool.

Chapter 7. Compositing (publication - 21.01.26)

  • Scene optimization (bugs / errors / material and animation issues)
  • Blender render (how to render the scene best)
  • EEVEE render and real-time compositing
  • Effects (Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Color Management, Post-Processing Tools)
  • Final render, music, sound effects (CupCut)

HW: Render final animation in Blender, assemble the scene in After Effects, and make final adjustments. Add sounds and music.

Chapter 8. Final Release (publication - 1.02.26)

  • How to publish your work
  • All possible applications of the tools studied in the course
  • Answers to popular questions

Final feedback, parting words, and publishing your projects on social media.
